This book is important because it talks about the soldier's experience in the war and the horrors of war. this book matters because many people don't know much about war and what its like fighting and eating bad food and always dirty. it tells about how soldiers feel and seeing dead and injured and mangled bodies also how they felt in combat and the fear of dying. the book ends of robin leaving combat and after the battle and then talking to his uncle about the war.

The Iraq war started in 2003 after 9/11 terrorist attack. their were 2 phases the first one was when U.S and british troops invaded and overthrew saddam husseins power in government. the second and longer phase was a U.S led occupation of iraq was opposed by a insurgency. The U.S government withdrew troops then the war ended in december 2011. this war connects to my book Sunrise over fallujah is out of a American soliders point of view fighting in the Iraq war.
A Massive fire in downtown Raleigh happened last week. The fire interests me because it was the biggest fire in Raleigh since 1920. Also it affects our community with money and people. People lost places to live and many people had to find other places to live and find new clothes. It affects taxpayers because money has to go into the emergency response and fire damage to the city.
It is good to hear nobody was injured and no emergency responders were hurt. This goes to show how well our firefighters and policemen are trained and dedicated to their jobs. www.wral.com/raleigh-building-inspected-50-times-before-massive-overnight-fire/16589787/ I'm the type of person who likes the outdoors and i am very opinionated on certain topics. I have a lot of determination to do certain things. I've changed a lot and they don't see me the same way when i was young. There are a lot of homeless service men and women who deserve to have a home. Most of these servicemen and women may have PTSD and are unlucky to not get a home and have successful lives at home. They dedicated their lives to protect ours, so we should give back by building them apartment complexes or have shelters for our servicemen. These issues are important to me because my grandparents are veterans and I plan on joining the military.
Veterans are not getting their care from the Durham VA as shown by WRAL news. Someone took pictures of veterans lying on the ground and had very long wait lines. The VA officials said they were not being neglected which they obviously were. The person exposed the VA by taking pictures and posting them on social media. We can help by funding the VA. We can hold fundraisers and make donations. The government funds the VA so we can contact our representatives. They are Richard Burr and Thom Tillis. We can also contact our state congressmen. www.wral.com/durham-va-vets-in-viral-photos-got-care-they-needed/16563336/ |
